Magic Kingdom

Today we decided to visit Magic Kindgom. After a relaxing breakfast, again with self-baked Croissants, we left the house to meet with Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, …

There were tons of people which had the same idea. It is amazing how thoroughly organized the parks are to deal with that amount of visitors - we always try to imagine how it would be in Spain :-).

First we went to the Buzz Lightyear ride (Max and Dad made Space Rangers 1st Degree). You are on a space ship and your duty is to zap as many aliens from the sky as possible. After that we waited to get into orbit (Astro Orbiter) which is a simple ride but with a spectacular view over the entire park.

Then came Felix highlight - Goofys Barnstormer - a roller coaster which is fast, but still enjoyable for the smaller ones.

The Country Bear Jamboree is Thomas favorite - the animated singing bears are great.

After the Jungle Cruise we decided to go home and maybe come back another time to see the fun stuff we weren’t patient enough to see (Pirates of the Caribbean, Winney the Pooh and Peter Pan were each a 70 Min. wait.

So, what do you do to cool off after a hot, humid day outside? Yes - you go shopping. We first went to a giant Walmart outlet and then to our Publix grocceries store.

After a swim in the pool we had dinner and later the boys watched a movie while Thomas was preparing his talk and presentation for the Smalltalk Solutions exebition in Toronto.

Making Croissants

making-croissants.JPGToday in the morning Dad, Felix and I baked croissants. They were stored in a tube which you had to break. After opening, we rolled croissants and cinnamon roles.croissants-done.JPG

Hmmmm, they were delicious

Power lines at Disney

disney-power.JPGI really like this (and I am sure Peter will as well - oderrr?). This is the high-voltage power line for Disney.

Animal Kingdom

animal-kingdom.JPGToday we went to Disneys Animal Kingdom. From last year we remembered that there is a dinosaur dig where you can actually try to find mammoth bones in a huge sand pit. This is where we went first. Before digging we went on a Triceratop Spin.excavation.JPG

After that we went onto a Jungle Trail and saw tigers, tapirs, giant vampire bat - they are really, really big.

explorers1.JPGThen we went with a train to the animal hospital. They showed a turtoise which was hit by a car accident and had a broken shell. The shell got put together again and was fixed with wires. The doctor told us that the turtoise will have to be in the hospital for almost a year for the shell to heal.

tiger.JPGThe most exciting ride of the day for me was a Safari. We went on a big Jeep which was driving us through a huge animal habitat. We saw zebras, giraffes, a sleeping lion, gnus and other deer, wild cattle and many more. The ride was really exciting because unlike a zoo, the animals were completely free.

After that we slowly went toward the exit looking at other interesting displays. Then we had to go shopping - how boring for Max and myself. This evening Dad will cook Hamburgers on a barbecue. Usually, Dad´s hamburgers are the best.

When we came home the men went into the pool; for Mom is was way to cool.

Dad’s Highlight

dad_harley.JPGMy highlight of the day was that I got to sit on a Harley. In the Disney Marketplace is a Harley-Davidson store with a couple of show-bikes to sit on - Cool.

The wildlife

lizard.JPGI found a few lizards at the pool. They look like little dragons, because they can blow up a little red balloon below their mouth.

Also a caterpillar was at the pool.

At Disney’s Marketplace today, we found a heron and also a turtoise in the water. We saw some ducks and swans swimming in the lakes.

We also saw a crocodile and a girafe but they were not real. girafe.JPG

On our way to the house, I noticed some long-horn cattle.

I will report, if I find any more wild life.

Mal sehen, was uns dann noch einfällt (Pool, Billiard, Air-Hockey, …..)

From Stuttgart to Orlando

leaving_str.jpgToday we went from Stuttgart to Orlando. First we had to drive to Frankfurt airport. There were 9 construction sites on the way. As we passed the “Technikmuseum” in Sinsheim, we saw the displays of the Concorde, the TU-154 and a Jumbo Jet. Unfortunately, dad was driving so fast, we couldn’t take a photo.

our-plane.JPGIn Frankfurt we had to wait 1 1/2 hours for the check-in. Boy, was this boring! Finally, we could go to the gate and we could get on board. However, we had to wait for almost another hour before the plane could finally leave (re-fuel, etc.) The flight was really long.  I used the time during the flight to do some work and Sudoku’s.working-in-the-plane.JPG

greenland.JPGWe flew over the southtip of greenland and I took some nice pictures of icebergs, glaciers, and mountains. Dad told me stories about the time he flew the Cessna Cardinal over greenland.

We also had a computer with us, so Max and I could watch a movie “Jagdfieber - Open season” during the flight. inflightmovie.JPG

After arriving in Orlando, we had to wait again for immigration, customs, luggage and our rental car. Finally we could walk over to the parking lot and Max and I could choose our car.

house_2.JPGIn the meantime, it was already 10pm locally, which is 4am in Spain. Max and I slept a little bit in the car. After arriving at the house, we had to check it out. There is an air-hockey in the garage, a pool table and a table-soccer. After another hour of playing, we really had to go to bedairhockey.JPG.

Curious Plant

the-plant.JPGGrandma has a curious plant in the living room. It is basically only a root. The plant doesn’t need any water or soil. The colours are very nice but it smells really bad. If you put a couple drops of water into the plant, then the smell is gone.

First vacation day with the grandparents

I am the captainToday, I got up really early. I watched cartoons with my grandpa in bed. Max slept until 11:30. After my third breakfast, we went to Böblingen for a ride in a boat. It had pedals like a bicycle but they were connected to a propeller in the back of the boat. I was the captain and grandpa was sitting next to me. Max and grandma were in the back and enjoyed the view.max-and-the-stewardess.JPG

Enjoying the sunAfter the boatride, we went to get some icecream and we met mom and dad who just came back from shopping.

From Palma to Stuttgart

waiting-for-the-plan.JPGOur first leg of our trip was to fly Palma to Stuttgart, Germany to visit the grandparents. It was a nice flight with Germanwings and Max and I had window seats. I was sitting with Mom and Max was sitting next to Dad. In the plane

We arrived on time and the grandparents were already waiting for us. Boy, was I tired because this was at 11pm. After a short ride to house of the grandparents, I was ready to go to bed.

Ready to GO

Today I woke up an hour earlier than usual because I am so excited. This evening we will leave for our holiday. First we go to Germany to visit a day with my grandparents (Thursday) and on Friday morning my dad drives us to Frankfurt. From there dad, mom, Max and I will leave to Orlando. I had visited Orlando already last year and it was a super vacation.

Here I will write down my impression about this holiday and everything special which I learned or what I want to share with my family and my friends. So please, join in the discussion and write lots of comments.

ENDLICH
